TRAILBLAZER AWARD

Dear St. Louis Forum Members,

Each year, The St. Louis Forum recognizes a woman who has blazed a trail for other women in business, charitable endeavors, the community and other areas.  The Trailblazer Award, which was established in 1994, is presented each year at the April meeting.

Members of the St. Louis Forum appreciate that so many women have gone ahead to open doors and create opportunities for the other women who have followed them. 

With a diverse and rich membership, many stand out but few are chosen.  The Trailblazer Nomination Committee and Board of Directors of the St. Louis Forum invite members to submit nominations in the first quarter of every year for a female candidates who deserve this special recognition and award.  Although we recognize that there are many deserving candidates outside the membership, first consideration is given to St. Louis Forum members and nominations must be submitted by St. Louis Forum members.

The following women are past recipients of the Trailblazer Award:

Nominees will be considered for the annual St. Louis Forum Trailblazer Award, based on the criteria listed below. A committee consisting of board members and previous Trailblazer recipients will review nominees meeting one or more of the following criteria.

CRITERIA

  • The candidate is very influential in the community and was a first in her field, e.g., the first female executive at a high (or the highest) level within her industry, corporation, organization or in a significant governmental role.
  • The candidate is the first woman to have been named to, or chaired, a particular board of directors.
  • Through the business community, the candidate has achieved recognition for accomplishments that would have a connection to the goals of the St. Louis Forum.
  • The candidate has made a significant contribution towards elevating the image of women’s roles in the community and/or in business.
  • Current board members may not be considered for this award.

Nominations should be submitted by February 17, 2007, by mail, fax or email. Trailblazer Award recipients receive a free membership in the St. Louis Forum for one year and are recognized with a ceremony at the April meeting.
